The Nativity

I stood back in awe this morning as Jack sat playing with the nativity pieces.
This was one of those moments every parent dreams of where you feel like
you are capturing your child's first moments with the spirit.

I wondered what conversations these shepherds may be having as Jack seemed so concerned and intent.  You could tell that thoughts were being played out in his imagination,
though no words ever left his lips.

He even seemed to be studying it out in his mind.
What joy I felt at knowing that all of the night time stories of the nativity
were finally paying off.

He was cuddled up in his chair so happy and full of joy.  I never wanted this moment to end.

And then this occurred...

Yes that was a body slam that involved the wise men.  When I asked Jack what had just happened he informed me that the middle guy (the one in the green cape) is the Green Lantern.
My heart was broken.  I captured this beautiful moment for nothing.
I'm not even sure he knows who the wise men are?

Actually he does - What color is the cape?

Brotherly love

Colin has been going through a biting phase lately,
and unfortunately Crew has been his chew toy.   :(

I may have been a little bit proud of Crew when he finally bit him back....

Adult Gingerbread Party

What happens when the adults have a night away?

They get all dressed up for the big event!

This years Tradition of the
Gingerbread Party
was combined with a glitz and glam theme.

check out all of the cute couples.

Some of the Aunts got a little wild and crazy as they posed for the camera.

It may have turned into their very own modeling shoot.

Don't you worry - we spent time keeping with tradition.

We even celebrated Pete's birthday with him

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PETE!!

The Adult Gingerbread Party was filled with lots of laughs.  Don't believe me?

Just ask Jimmy...

We look forward to next years version of Parents night away.
Thank You Becky and Keith for providing such a great Tradition!!!!

See ya'll next year!

THANKFUL

This is the time of year when we are reminded to
GIVE THANKS

I loved that this year we each had the opportunity to express what we are grateful for by placing a leaf on the Thankful Tree.

The tree was covered with leaves filled out by each member of the family.  What a wonderful way to GIVE THANKS this Thanksgiving day.

THANKS to this family

we had a wonderful THANKSGIVING celebration in the comforts of their home.

Surrounded by family (and our rain man friend)  we enjoyed a delicious feast.

A special THANKS to Miranda for capturing  so many wonderful pictures as I was a bit busy with a boy who was so very THANKFUL that he decided to take a nap.

He didn't even wait to put his spoon down.

Some of the pictures Miranda captured included a timeline of Jimmy.
Tell me if you notice anything funny about each of these photos.

Is it weird that he only closes his mouth when the food is about to go in?
ha ha ha

After dinner there was plenty of fun to be had!

Some kids like to play with cars

Jack likes to play with DVD's...  go figure?

I think the kids were the most THANKFUL when this blow up playhouse appeared.

And the bigger kids were certainly THANKFUL for a TV to watch the football game on.

I was THANKFUL for a tradition that carries on.
We had our very own
Pratt FamilyTurkey Bowl

While the men might have been THANKFUL for no shave November,
I'm pretty sure the wives will be THANKFUL when December 1st arrives.

THANKSGIVING
is a day to be surrounded by those you love.

To give THANKS for the memories you share.

And to look ahead, with a THANKFUL heart, to the many ways that we each are blessed.

This THANKSGIVING was definitely a day to remember.
I'm  THANKFUL for each of you and the memories we shared.

Now let's all be THANKFUL for Black Friday and the money we will save.
Or do we actually spend more?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
