THANKFUL

This is the time of year when we are reminded to
GIVE THANKS

I loved that this year we each had the opportunity to express what we are grateful for by placing a leaf on the Thankful Tree.

The tree was covered with leaves filled out by each member of the family.  What a wonderful way to GIVE THANKS this Thanksgiving day.

THANKS to this family

we had a wonderful THANKSGIVING celebration in the comforts of their home.

Surrounded by family (and our rain man friend)  we enjoyed a delicious feast.

A special THANKS to Miranda for capturing  so many wonderful pictures as I was a bit busy with a boy who was so very THANKFUL that he decided to take a nap.

He didn't even wait to put his spoon down.

Some of the pictures Miranda captured included a timeline of Jimmy.
Tell me if you notice anything funny about each of these photos.

Is it weird that he only closes his mouth when the food is about to go in?
ha ha ha

After dinner there was plenty of fun to be had!

Some kids like to play with cars

Jack likes to play with DVD's...  go figure?

I think the kids were the most THANKFUL when this blow up playhouse appeared.

And the bigger kids were certainly THANKFUL for a TV to watch the football game on.

I was THANKFUL for a tradition that carries on.
We had our very own
Pratt FamilyTurkey Bowl

While the men might have been THANKFUL for no shave November,
I'm pretty sure the wives will be THANKFUL when December 1st arrives.

THANKSGIVING
is a day to be surrounded by those you love.

To give THANKS for the memories you share.

And to look ahead, with a THANKFUL heart, to the many ways that we each are blessed.

This THANKSGIVING was definitely a day to remember.
I'm  THANKFUL for each of you and the memories we shared.

Now let's all be THANKFUL for Black Friday and the money we will save.
Or do we actually spend more?

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Grattitude

There are days when the pitty party train parks itself right outside in my driveway and I feel incredibly tempted to jump on board and go for a "whoa is me ride."  Today was one of those days but luckily this day also happened to be our "thankful tree" day.  Emma was in charge this year and after spending several hours cutting out leaves for our poster, she reminded us that today was our day to give thanks for all that we have been blessed with.

As the kids filled out their leaves

Emma peacefully played her violin for us.

While I appreciated the music in the background I was happy when she joined us at the island to share with us her leaves of grattitude.

I wasn't surprised when this was one of the first ones she filled out.

Its amazing what a good dose of gratitude will do to drive away the dark clouds in our lives.

Our Thankful Tree filled up quickly this year.  We have much to be thankful for!

How grateful I am for this month of Gratitude and Thanksgiving.
I appreciate the  peace it brings as we recognized just how blessed we really are.

What did Jack think about this family night activity?

I'm afraid Emma's angelic playing lulled him right to sleep.

This is what I am thankful for!
I adore my family and despite all of the craziness in our lives
I feel like the luckiest girl in the world.

Parker Wright's Blessing

Today was Parker's Blessing

The blessing was performed inside the Wright home as Parker
was surrounded by family and friends.

The Wright family has been changed forever.  Parker brings with him many joys - like the fact that each sibling is now an Aunt or Uncle.   Or how about the excitement that John and Mary are now officially called Grandpa and Grandma!

All of these things are wonderful!  But what brings a smile to my face is the thought that
someday soon little Parker might have a shaved head, like his uncle Ben.

Or pull his pants up as far as his Grandpa John.

Do these things make you smile or do they cause you to make this face?

This little guy has a lot of FUN to look forward to being a part of the Wright family.

But the best part might be that he gets to call this wonderful lady his Grandma.
